Dario Villares Barbosa was a Brazilian painter, born in Campinas, São Paulo. While in Brazil, he was a pupil of the painter Oscar Pereira da Silva. He traveled to Paris thanks to a pension from the government of São Paulo. The works by Dario are distinguished from other painters of his time because they already shows traces of modernity. The painting we present today was created when he traveled to Tangier.
