Still Life With Fruit and Pumpkin

Oil on canvas • 51,5 x 42 cm
  • Jeanne Marie Joséphine Hellemans - 1796 - 1837 Jeanne Marie Joséphine Hellemans 1830

Jeanne Marie Joséphine Hellemans was a 19th-century Belgian painter. Her œuvre comprised mainly ornate still lifes of mixed flowers, often paired with fruit, all on a multicolored stone or marble ledge. Her paintings are thematically grounded in the compositions of 17th-century Dutch and Flemish still lifes of the Golden Age, in which themes like vanitas (the transient nature of life) and pronkstilleven (an ostentatious still life) are expressed pictorially in works that emphasize optical fidelity, technical skill, and texture.

I'm getting hungry just looking at this painting!  :D
