Dear American users: Happy 4th of July!

We will celebrate this day with the painting of an artist whose work defined American painting in the 20th century. Edward Hopper was among the first American artists to give visual form to the quiet loneliness of modern urban life. In Morning Sun, a woman—modeled on his wife, Josephine Hopper—sits on a bed, turned toward the light. Her expression is still, almost unreadable, as if suspended between thought and emptiness. The stark interior, with its bare wall and elevated view above the street, gives us a sense of detachment from the outside world.

In earlier works, Hopper’s figures often seem cut off from their surroundings, unable to fully engage with what they see. But in his later paintings, something shifts. In Morning Sun, the figure appears more aware, more present—absorbing the light rather than simply existing within it.

Now for the most exciting part—this masterpiece is available as a customized fine art print at a very affordable price!
