Dualicities and Beyond

From 12 April to 13 May, every Wednesday and Sunday, DailyArt will present you with the award-winning works from the previous editions of the WRO Media Art Biennale – from the years 2011 and 2013 – in the form of pictures and links to the documentation from the WRO Active Art Archive. This presentation of media art – videos, installations, performances – is an unprecedented event in app history. It's impossible to present these pieces through single images, so each photo is accompanied by a link to documentation of the work, sometimes with statements from the artists as well. Earphones will be useful! incite/ is a duo of artists creating electronic audiovisual compositions, bridging the gap between the art world and the club music scene. Kera Nagel and André Aspelmeier make minimalist, distorted bass music and accompany it with multi-screen projections that are synchronized with the sound. Abstract images in grey are projected on screens, a white podium and the performers' bodies. Every performance by incite/ is an intense experience for the eyes and ears, stimulating our perception and awareness. Dualicities and Beyond was presented live during the WRO 2011 Biennale. During WRO 2015, incite/ will present the premiere performance of their latest project. Performances by incite/ were awarded prizes at WRO 2007 and WRO 2011.
