Today we end our monthly partnership with the State Russian Museum with this very atmospheric painting. I love it; it's so calming!  : )  We hope you enjoyed the collection as much as we did!

Arkhip Kuindzhi’s last major work combines epic monumentality with a lyrical and contemplative image of nature by night. The decorative tones combine harmoniously with the expressive outlines. A sense of calm and tranquility is evoked by the elongated forms of the landscape, the static silhouettes of the horses, the smooth outlines of the wide riverbed, and distant shoreline and the long, winding road.

If you're looking for more landscapes in your life, this is the last call to get our artsy paper calendars for 2021.  : )
