It's time for something more fun and colorful. Today, we go to Capri!

In 1920, as the groundbreaking American modernist Joseph Stella gained recognition for his innovative depictions of the Brooklyn Bridge and other symbols of urban progress, he unveiled a series of vibrant works filled with whimsical plants and animals. While his reputation was largely anchored in his New York subjects, these unique and captivating flower paintings provided a lasting source of inspiration for Stella. He desired each of his working days to "start and conclude under the cheerful auspices of painting a flower.” This sentiment wasn’t merely nostalgic but highlighted his deep-seated belief in nature as a source of spiritual nourishment. Today, we present one of Stella's meticulously crafted botanical artworks—a lively landscape with floral composition that not only underscores the depth and spirituality of his nature-focused pieces but also showcases the vast scope of his artistic perspective.
