Maximilian Lenz was an Austrian painter, graphic artist and sculptor. He was a founding member of the Vienna Secessionm during his career's most important period, he was a Symbolist, but later his work became increasingly naturalistic. What's interesting, in the early 1890s Lenz worked as a designer of banknotes in Buenos Aires. His One World, painted in 1899, recalls the typical stylistic features, intensified colour harmony, and dream-like fantasy world of the period. The Secession's periodical Ver Sacrum featured the work in the same year.
