Time to continue Women's History Month with this portrait of a student, painted by Laura Wheeler Waring.  :)

Laura Wheeler Waring was an American artist and educator, best known for her paintings of prominent African Americans that she made during the Harlem Renaissance. Waring received acclaim as a portrait artist but created landscapes and still lifes as well. Between 1927 and 1931 Waring’s work was displayed at several institutions, including the Smithsonian Institution and the Art Institute of Chicago. Her illustrations depicting African American subjects appeared in several books and magazines. Waring also painted murals and landscapes of both America and Europe, which gained her wide acclaim.
