One of the best things that Claude Monet gave us is, in my opinion, his garden in Giverny.
Today we present one of many works by the artist of his garden, which he created over the last 30 years of his life. The painting shows rows of irises in various shades of purple. The flowers are under trees that allow dappled light to change the tone of their colors.
Monet was 60 years old the year he completed this painting; he had already produced an immense body of work. He had become extraordinarily successful as well as famous. In 1900, the year of this painting, he embarked on two major projects: a series of the Thames river in London and another series of his water gardens in Giverny, including some of his famous paintings of waterlilies.
The Giverny garden is now open to the public, and it has not changed much since Monet's paintings; it's still amazingly beautiful. You can explore it in our article :)
