Happy New Year, everyone!
As you may be exhausted by last night's crazy parties, or just 2024 itself, we have something that can soothe your soul today.
Ramón Casas was a leading Spanish avant-garde painter, who studied in Paris before returning in 1890 with his close friend, the colorist Santiago Rusiñol. This painting belongs to a large body of work in which Casas sought inspiration from everyday scenes and domestic interiors.
The painting is one of Casas's best-known images. On it we see the model resting in a relaxed, almost dreamlike state, conveying the essence of a luxurious, unhurried morning. Casas’ characteristic use of light, shadow, and delicate brushwork brings warmth and intimacy to the scene, enhancing the sense of calm. The work is representative of Casas' focus on everyday life, capturing both the elegance and quiet simplicity of moments often overlooked in daily life.
Have a calm day today! :)
