Anyone who has visited Milan to see The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci knows — it's not so easy. The Last Supper is a fresco, in bad condition, painted on a wall in a gloomy room. Leonardo da Vinci loved to experiment with mediums, techniques, and substrates. In this case, the experiment failed in that the fresco started to deteriorate a few years after Leonardo finished it.
