How could an artist in the Baroque era paint a naked women without causing a scandal? He could could say they were mythological or biblical characters. And that’s exactly what Peter Paul Rubens did — he painted three naked women and called them The Three Graces. These Three Graces were the Roman goddesses of splendor, mirth, and good cheer. The artist held this painting in his personal collection. At his death, it went to the Royal Alcazar of Madrid and now resides in the Museo del Prado in Spain.
